Session 1: Do

  Progress:

Sometimes inquiry projects start because the teacher is observing the world with curiosity glasses, thinking, “What will make my students insatiably curious? What will make them want to explore?”.

As you learned in the previous article, we have to cultivate curiosity because it can diminish as we get older if we ignore it. Cultivate your own curiosity by picking a day this week and having a Wonder Day (or more like a Wonder Hour). Look at your own world with curiosity glasses.

Wonder Hour Steps:

  • Look around and find something that makes you curious about why it is like that, how it happened, or how it works.
  • Take a picture of it.
  • Set a timer (seriously!) for 5 minutes and write down as many questions as you can.
  • Look through your questions and find the three best ones. You’ll share them in the next activity.
