Session 2: Do

In the video you saw earlier in this session, the teacher asks the students to create an infographic of the data they collected at the river. Borrowing that teacher’s idea, create a simple infographic that shows a step-by-step process teachers can use when designing inquiry-based lessons. Generalize the steps so that you have a process that you could use to design your own inquiry-based science lesson rather than a specific infographic about the water project. Your process should have at least four steps and feel free to make it your own with tips, hints, questions, images, or anything else you observed when reverse engineering the lesson.

Steps:

  • Go to Canva and signup with your Google account or your email.
  • Click on “Create a design” and then choose “infographic.”
  • You can use one of the layouts they provide by clicking on it. Look for a layout that allows you to show a step-by-step process.
  • Modify the layout as you like to represent the inquiry-based learning process.
  • When you are done, download it as a PNG.
